                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR
                   OF GENERAL SERVICES TO EXTEND THE EXISTING
                   CONTRACT WITH FORTIS LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY
                   FOR ANOTHER TWO (2) YEARS AT THE CURRENT
                   RATE OF $.39 PER $1,000 FOR GROUP TERM LIFE
                   AND $.03 PER $1,000 FOR ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND
                   DISMEMBERMENT BENEFITS.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Administrator of General 
Services
       be and is hereby authorized to extend the existing contract with
       Fortis Life Insurance Company for another two (2) years at the
       current rate of $.39 per $1,000 for Group Term Life and $.03 per
       $1,000 for Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefits.
